AO5 WHS Advisor, Cairns, 8 weeks with Possible Extension

Hays Recruitment is pleased to support the urgent recruitment of a highly motivated Workplace Health and Safety Advisor to work for the Queensland Government, on an eight-week contract with a possibility of extension.

Your new role

• Conduct site Workplace Health, Safety and Environmental (WHS&E) audits and inspections to ensure compliance for both organisation and contractor delivered work.
• Assist with reporting and investigating WHS&E incidents and contractor notifiable incidents.
• Assist with the development, review and implementation of SWMSs, risk assessments and WHS Management plans.
• Assist with regular WHS&E reporting for regions and business.
• Assist with the delivery of a range of health and safety programs, to enable a service that is responsive to the needs of the stakeholders.
• Some regional travel required

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will have a Certificate IV in WHS&E and proven 5 years' experience in a similar role.
